James Rudin was born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1934 and was ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 1960. Rabbi Rudin has been a leading figure in interreligious affairs since 1968, when he joined the AJC staff. He currently serves as Senior Interreligious Adviser for the organization. He is the author of several books and was a weekly commentator for the Religion News Service)
