(1864); converted to Disciples of Christ, Brazil, Indiana (1880s); preached in Terre Haute, Indiana, and Danville, Illinois (1885); preached in Sigourney, Iowa (1889); established the Tohee Industrial School in the Oklahoma Territory(1891); served as justice of the peace; was a member of Negro Protective League in Oklahoma. He became the first black national evangelist among Churches of Christ. He died 10 August 1931 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States)
