Author of 10 books, incluing "Night Comes to the Cumberlands", 50 magazine articles, 80 newspaper articles and hundreds of speeches. A lawyer for 28 years, a history professor at the University of Kentucky 1977-1985. Died in his hometown of Whitesburg, Ky.)
