Dublin, Ireland on May 29, 1841 and was of Scottish descent; grad. from Trinity College, Dublin in 1862 and was called to the Irish Bar in 1863. Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police and Chief of the Criminal Investigation Dept. at Scotland Yard. In 1901, he was made Knight Commander of the the Order of the Bath. He wrote many books, some on political subjects but most teaching doctrine. Sir Robert Anderson died on Nov. 15, 1918)
