(Pseudo-Macaire) p. 13, etc. (corpus of writings consisting of a few letters and a large no. of homilies; author active betw. 380 and 430 in Asia Minor or Syria-Mesopotamia but known only from the works; he is perhaps named Symeon and perhaps is to be identified with Symeon of Mesopotamia, known otherwise as a leader of the Messalian sect) p. 21 (the letter called ad filios not part of the corpus and may be a genuine work of Macarius the Egyptian) p. 32 (corpus generally passed down under name of Macarius the Egyptian, although one coll. in Arabic & Coptic attributed to a certain Symeon)
