Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: pages 856-857 (Barton Warren Stone, Presbyterian minister, born on December 24, 1772 in Port Tobacco, Maryland. In 1779, his family moved to Pittsylvania County, Viriginia. In 1790 entered David Caldwell's Academy in Greensboro, N.C., graduating in 1793. After teaching in Georgia and North Carolina, Stone received his first pastorates at Cane Ridge and Concord, Ky. in 1798. Lived in Tennessee, then moved to Lexington, Ky. and later moved to Jacksonville, Ill. where he lived until his death on November 9, 1844.)
