Oxford DNB WWW site, 11 Sept., 2013 (Halyburton, Thomas (1674-1712), Church of Scotland minister and theologian; b. on 25 Dec. 1674 at Dupplin, Perthshire; lived briefly in Rotterdam from May 1685 to spring of 1687; in Nov, 1692 he entered Edinburgh University; graduated MA on 24 July 1696 from St Leonard's College, St. Andrews; he accepted employment as private chaplain in the household of Margaret Wemyss, countess of Wemyss; ordained minister in Ceres, Fife on 1 May 1700; principal writings, all posthumously published, date from his time at Ceres; d. at St. Andrews on 23 Sept. 1712 and was buried in the cathedral graveyard)
