Education: Blaubeuren; University of Tübingen, 1809-14. Employment: country vicar and teacher; Blaubeuren, professor theology, 1817-26; Tübingen, professor theology, appointed in 1826. Writings: first major work was "Symbolism and Mythology, or the Nature Religion of Antiquity" (3 vols., 1824-1825).)
