Kelly, 84, of Glenside, a La Salle University religion professor and an authority on German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, died Tuesday, May 30; established the International Bonhoeffer Society, English Language Section, in the early 1970s and served two terms as its president; outstanding teacher in La Salle's Religion Department; born in Southwest Philadelphia; attended West Catholic High School for Boys for two years before leaving at age 15 to become a junior novice with the Brothers of the Christian Schools, a Catholic teaching order; pronounced his final vows in 1957; completed doctorate in sacred theology in 1972 from the Catholic University of Louvain; in 1972, he began teaching at La Salle as an assistant professor; retired several years ago; in the 1970s, while in his early 40s, Dr. Kelly left the Christian Brothers)
