Scotland (Geographic Name)

In 1536 Wales was united with England to form England and Wales. In 1707 Scotland was united with England and Wales to form Great Britain. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF records for laws and regulations valid for Scotland only (6.29.1.2, 6.29.1.4, 19.3.2.2), Scottish courts (which by the Act of Union retained their separate judicial system and authority (11.2.2.24)), DO NOT USE SCOTLAND AS A JURISDICTIONAL ENTRY FOR CORPORATE ENTITIES WHICH CAME INTO EXISTENCE AFTER 1707 AND BEFORE 1999. Use "(Scotland)" as qualifier for places (16.2.2.10) and for non-governmental bodies (11.13.1.3).
