Weisberg received his A.B. from Columbia College and his Bachelor's of Hebrew Letters from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1960, and his doctorate from Yale Univ. in 1965. After serving two years at the Oriental Institute of the Univ. of Chicago, he was invited to join the faculty at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati in 1967, and was ordained as a rabbi in 1977. President of the Greater Cincinnati Board of Rabbis from 2003-2005 and an accomplished scholar, he has taught at Mikhlellet Achavah and Bar Ilan University in Israel, as well as in Russia, Germany, and China. He currently holds the title of Professor of Bible and Semitic Languages at HUC-JIR, Cincinnati, and specializes in Ancient Near Eastern Studies, specifically Assyriology and Bible.
