DNB (Thorpe, William, d. 1407?; educated at Oxf., tried for heresy 1397 by Archbishop Thomas Arundel, imprisoned, and set free by Richard Braybrooke, bishop of London. In 1407 he preached at Shrewsbury, was charged by the bailiffs and imprisoned; sent to castle of Saltwood and examined before Archbishop Arundel 1407; fate is uncertain, but it is stated that he was burned at Saltwood 1407)
